Alila Hinu Bay Hotel Review

By Nicole Brewer

Greetings globetrotters! Happy Holidays! I hope that you all have been well. I’m a bit overdue for a blog post so please forgive me. Work as an ESL teacher here in Oman and a freelance travel writer has been keeping me quite busy. Nevertheless, busy is good. I managed to have a long weekend escape to Alila Hinu Bay resort situated in Mirbat around an hour outside of Salalah for Oman’s National Day weekend the end of November.

Alila Hinu Bay is a stunning 5-star resort that only opened around 4 months ago in the Sultanate. I’m a huge fan of the Alila brand as I’ve conducted a hotel review stay and previous reviews of their sister location Alila Jabal Akhdar also located here in Oman. While this particular stay was not a hosted review, it was just too fabulous not to share with you globetrotters about my experience.

The luxurious beach resort offers beautiful views of the Arabian Sea. I absolutely loved the modern architecture and interior design on display throughout the resort. I even noted that many of the exteriors were made from pink limestone, similar to that of the contemporary designs of the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM). I really loved the morning views of the sea from our terrace sea view room which included a massive outdoor seating area for enjoying the incredible views. The room also featured a divine deep-seated bathtub, minibar, and an extra comfortable king bed.

The resort also is home to two beautiful pools for lounging and relaxing before or after exploring nearby Mirbat and Salalah. We enjoyed cool drinks and snacks are available at the Oasis Pool Bar. I also managed to have a fantastic full body massage by a Thai masseuse at Spa Alila. This getaway was the ultimate self-care experience that was needed after a busy and exhausting term at my university here in Oman.

I was told by the staff that this was the soft opening of the newly opened resort and that even more renovations are currently taking place. By the spring of 2022 they will do an official opening which I’m sure will be a fantastic experience. The only drawback that I can speak of is that only one restaurant was open during our stay, Seasalt. While the food was delicious as their menu mostly centers on Asian cuisine like Thai dishes, I would’ve loved to experience the main dining facilities The Orchard. Inshallah, next time I can have the full experience. Nevertheless, I highly recommend a stay at Alila Hinu Bay globetrotters. It will not disappoint.
